Ohh so yummy.....My daughter brought me some blueberries from Costco today and they're soooo good. I can finish the whole box by myself...and it's good for my chemo so I kept eating.....and eat some more......When I buy fruits, I gotta taste them first before buying. My kids are always telling me not to do it, but what if it's not good and sour. Except for melons and likes...you really can't open it, but the berries and grapes, well......
Anyhoo, my son worked with the U2 concert crew and helped built the stage. He was in the VIP section during the concert. Around 8pm he called me to let me know the the place was packed....After the concert he called me again,...just to let me know he recognised some of the songs. I was thinking, geeeesss, a lot of people wanted to be there that night...and he doesn't know the group......Oh well, he did enjoy it, and work afterwards....
Had chemo today....My friend was there with her husband who has cancer....Last time I saw them it was his very first chemo. I was surprised to see them there but noticed right away that he's sick. He looked sick and weak...I found out that he just got out of the hospital.....he looks better today....
My friend was holding her binder as usual with all his health information. Just so happen we have the same oncologist....Just the other day I heard another friend got diagnosed with cancer........What's up with this cancer??? Before I got sick, I never heard of any of my friends or know people who has cancer....but now it seems everybody has one.......not a good thing at all......
I feel good so far......let's hope it stays that way...
So my son got this part time job building sets for a U2 concert. They're coming May 21st to Colorado for a concert and my son was one of maybe 150????people building the stage and covering the ground at Invesco Field. His shift started at 2:00am to 2pm..It was freezing cold but he said the work was so heavy, he removed his jacket within minutes of getting there..Of course everybody's asking him "aren't you cold?". He said people were asking him all the time that he started counting after the fifth person...all in all 27.....The good thing about this job is, they actually provide all the food for their employees and you can get seconds as long as you're in your break...that makes my son happy....They employ so many people building diff things at the same time that they have a cook and helpers feeding people at diff times. My son was in a team covering the ground with wood planks so it's protected from the concert chaos....He came home after 12 hour shifts barely walking
....literally.....his hands swollen, hips hurting and ready to sleep for the next 12 hours..
Who knew there's so much work to do a concert..You can imagine these people riding to another city and starting all over again....hiring locals to do most of the work. My son wants to go with them..a roadie he says....a Bono roadie....but after last night he's rethinking that one.....work again tomorrow.....we'll see after that. After all May 21st is still a week away..
.
So I"ve been away for a long time.....I got sick.....with cancer.
I have to tell you guys..don't ever get sick with cancer...it's not fun at all...It's funny how this things work....you get diagnosed then other things starts to come out..you're wondering how did that happen?...one day you're fine, the next day you're not.
I was diagnosed june of last year. I was out of the country March and April...I was fine then...when I got back, there was a letter reminding me to make an appointment for my yearly check-up....I did....and that was the start of my many visits to doctors and hospitals.....after they called me the third time, my husband decided to come with me...they said they just want to make sure so they want me to do this and that....just to make sure you know....I knew then something was up, and nobody's saying anything...my husband said no, everything's ok....I guess he was in denial. Around last week of June the doctor called me up, asking me to sit down.....stage 3 and very aggressive...so I started chemo right away.....
Today is a good day...I still have chemo till September and surgeries coming up...but hey I'm up and not feeling dizzy or faint....even went out for coffee yesterday with my friend Ana....Let's hope for more good days to come......
So went went back the next day. Our hotel was walking distance from disney so we left a little early to get there before ten o'clock, when the park opens, but when we got there the line was already long and in fact, they started letting people in before ten. Oh well, we figured we can still get as much ride as we hoped. We decided to checked out California Adventure first since we've never been there. It's right next door and their newest park. Most of the rides there are for adults but my son found this water ride The Grizzly Bear(??) really amazing, his word, so he went back there over and over again and got so wet in the process. I didn't go to any of them cause i'm a wimp when it comes to rides. I let them two go everywhere and i followed them around. Yeah, that's what i thought, what a way to go to a park.......
So off we went to the other side again, The Disney park and hooked up with our son's classmate and his mom and brother and one of the teachers in our son's school. what do you know???? before we left Colorado, we all found out we were all going to California and Disneyland at the same day so we decided to meet up there and we did. What a fine day to really get to know each other and the kids we're all having fun. We pretty much let them decide what ride to go to and what to do next. But the adults were able to get a few rides here and there. A good thing we already went to the park the day before and stayed till closing time which was 12 midnight so we pretty much did a lot of things. One lucky thing we did the night before was Indiana Jones ride. We did it a few times and we found out the next day that the ride was closed for the day so a lot of people were disappointed. By this time, our feet was killing us but still, we're not going anywhere until the park closed. And ohhhhh, did i tell you we're going to Universal Studios the next day???????? Till then.......................
